Digital Portraits

Using archival photographs, I created digital portraits of the 48 individuals who are featured in Aritha van Herk’s book Mavericks: An Incorrigible History of Alberta. The portraits are an integral part of the permanent exhibit “Mavericks”, which takes up most of the third floor of The Glenbow, the largest museum of its kind in western Canada. There are several themed areas within the exhibit to explore; Railways, War, Politics, Ranching, Oil and Gas, just to name a few. Each portrait is situated in a beautiful and often elaborate exhibit space, surrounded by interesting historical artifacts.
